Our Spring series will kick off on March 19 with Financial Risk Management: Essential Tools and Techniques. This presentation will feature Margaret Woods and Kevin Dowd from the University of Nottingham Business School, co-authors of the new Management Accounting Guideline Financial Risk Management for Management Accountants.
Essential Tools and Techniques will demonstrate how to identify and quantify risks related to interest rates, credit quality, liquidity, commodity prices, foreign exchange rates, and other financial risks, and how to apply tools for managing those risks including the use of forward, futures and options contracts as well as internal and external hedging and netting strategies.
On April 23 CIMA Specialists Gillian Lees and Helenne Doody will present Fraud Risk Management: It Can Happen to You, based on CIMA’s newly revised Fraud Risk Management: A Guide to Good Practice.
Using case studies drawn from a range of organizations that have fallen victim to fraud, this practical, solutions-oriented Infocast will help participants identify the key components of an anti-fraud strategy and apply essential tools and techniques for fraud prevention, fraud detection and fraud response.
The Spring series will conclude on May 21 with a presentation by Mark Beasley and Bonnie Hancock from the ERM Institute at North Carolina State University. Enterprise Risk Management: Rising Expectations will present findings of a recent survey of AICPA members serving as CFO of their organizations about the state of ERM and emerging trends. It will focus on critical success factors for the effective launch of an ERM program.
