Max S. Duplant has served as Chief Financial Officer for the City of Beaumont since October 2002. Prior to that time she served as Director of Finance for the City of Groves for more than nine years. Max was a part owner of a Port Arthur Certified Public Accounting firm with a concentration in governmental auditing before her years in Municipal Finance.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lamar University in Beaumont and CPA certificates in both Texas and Louisiana.
Max is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and has held executive board positions with the Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA), at the time a 31,000 member organization, including Treasurer and Vice-President. In addition, she belongs to the Southeast Texas Chapter of CPAs where she has held various positions, including President. Max presently belongs to the Rotary Club of Beaumont and is a past President of the Rotary Club of Groves. She is currently President of the Government Finance Officers’ Association of Texas (GFOAT)

Max's record of volunteer and community service is very extensive, having served on Neches Federal Credit Union Board, American Heart Association, Diocese of Beaumont Finance Committee, Catholic Charities Board, United Way Board, and many others.
In prior years, Max has been honored as the "Young CPA of the Year" by TSCPA; "CPA of the Year" for the Southeast Texas Chapter of TSCPA; the "Outstanding Small Chapter President" by TSCPA; and "Young Career Woman" for the Port Arthur Business and Professional Women's Club.
Max has three children. Jason is the marketing director at a local credit union; Stephanie is completing her final year at Lamar University while employed by another credit union, and Julien is attending the University of North Texas with an emphasis in computer system design and security. In her spare time, Max enjoys traveling and competitive dancing.
