International Federation of Accountants

Just like you are a member of the AICPA, the Institute is a member of IFAC – The International Federation of Accountants, which counts over 150 organizations like the AICPA from over 120 countries around the world.

AICPA volunteers and staff participate in many IFAC committees, the one most notable to the Financial Management Center is the Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee.  PAIB is focused on the more than one million professional accountants worldwide who work in commerce, industry, the public sector, education, and the not-for-profit sector. Its aim is to enhance the profession by encouraging and facilitating the global development and the exchange of knowledge and best practices. It also works to build public awareness of the value of professional accountants. An important PAIB Committee objective is to identify and make readily available to all member bodies relevant guidelines on significant issues that are being addressed by member bodies and other entities.

PAIB publishes studies, theme booklets, thought pieces and other documents that address the global concerns of professional accountants in business. These materials are available for FREE download from the IFAC Web site, or they can be purchased for $25.

IFAC has launched a new resource: Knowledgenet for Accountants in Business - a new global web-based resource that provides one-stop access to thousands of articles, management tools and good practice guidance developed for professional accountants in business by IFAC and more than a dozen professional accountancy organizations worldwide.
