Edward Davis Beach joined Broyhill Furniture Industries, Inc. in 1971 as Vice President of Finance and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Beach has been President of BMC Fund, Inc. since its inception in 1982 as a result of the sale of Broyhill Furniture Industries, Inc. to INTERCO. He is highly devoted to the protection and growth of BMC's assets, not for his own personal success, but for the sake of the shareholders. His responsibilities include overseeing the asset management ($150 million +) of BMC Fund, where he advocates and encourages changes in BMC's technological systems to ensure the best possible record keeping for the company.

Mr. Beach has just retired after approximately 17 years of service as a director of a number of funds sponsored by Prudential Investments. He is also a trustee and secretary of The Broyhill Family Foundation, Inc. and a member of the Atlanta/Dallas Advisory Board of Factory Mutual Insurance Company.

Mr. Beach was named 1997 Mutual Fund Trustee of the Year by Fund Directions, a publication of Institutional Investor.
