Mr. Neis (retired April 2007) was a principal shareholder of LCS Holdings, Inc. His responsibilities included treasury management, financial reporting and accounting, taxation, actuarial sciences and risk management. In addition to Board of Directors and Executive Committee responsibilities, Mr. Neis served on the Audit Committee and in similar officer capacities of all operating and investing subsidiaries of LCS Holdings. LCS Holdings, Inc.’s focus is services, care and accommodations for older persons. Its retirement communities are located in more than 30 states, engaging more than 25,000 residents typically aged 75 and older in an active lifestyle.
Mr. Neis served on the AICPA Private Company Task Force, whose charge from the Board of Directors of the AICPA was to determine if generally accepted accounting principles are applicable to private, for-profit entities. Mr. Neis is currently a member of the AICPA Nominating Committee. Mr. Neis is a member of the AICPA, and State Societies of CPAs of Kansas and Iowa, as well as being active in the Iowa Chapter of the Financial Executives International. Mr. Neis is currently a member of the International Accounting Standards Board (London) Small and Medium Sized Company Reporting Standards Working Group, which recently issued an Exposure Draft of International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities.
Mr. Neis has served as trustee (7 years) and chairman for the Financial Executives Research Foundation and is active in the Financial Executives International’s Committee of Private Companies and its Standards Subcommittee.
Mr. Neis is an arts advocate, involved with cultural matters of his community, and is a patron of artists and musicians.
